The design firm, La Maison Desny, consisted of two individual designers, Desnet and René Nauny, from whose names the contraction of Desny is derived. Their work ranks among the most innovative and avant-garde of the period. Remarkably, their rigorous geometric configurations appear contemporary into the 21st century. The crisp symmetry in the composition of this fruit bowl recalls the interlocking planes and circles found also in Russian Constructivism.
